#156 – Exotic Escape

Heyhey, it’s #TicTacTuesday! The 156th variety added to the Tic Tac collection: Exotic Escape. This pack comes to us from Germany and it was actually a bit tricky for me to get. I purchased this flavor a year ago and due to shipping issues from Europe to the US at the time, they got “lost.” I’m so happy to finally have found them again from a different supplier.

Tic Tac is fond of putting together mixes of related flavors, like: Fruit Adventure, Citrus Mix, Tropical Adventure, and other “mixes.” It’s interesting (and disappointing) how some flavors in these mixes have never made available on their own, like pineapple.

This exotic mix consists of the two delicious tastes of passionfruit and pineapple. For flavoring, the ingredients list both passion fruit and pineapple juice concentrates. For coloring, they went natural with beetroot red, beta carotene, and curcumin.

I really enjoyed these two flavors together and also on their own. They’re not new, as passionfruit was available at one time on its own and in other mixes and pineapple included in Mixers: Coconut->Pina Colada but not as its own singular flavor in a candy.

The tastes are realistic, especially in the pineapple, which has just that right level of acidity. To be honest, I’ve never eaten an actual passionfruit but these candies at least taste realistic and not artificial, but I can’t vouch for how faithful they are to the fruit.

This is a refreshing mix, probably more suited for the summer months, but I’ll take them any time.
