Heyhey, it’s #TicTacTuesday!! The 136th variety added to the Tic Tac collection: Sprite. This is the second flavor to come out of the partnership between Tic Tac and The Coca-Cola Company. The Coca-Cola flavored Tic Tacs, introduced in 2019 in 70 countries, were one of my top favorite flavors, and so I was very excited to try these. They were first launched in France in March and are now making their way to about 20 different countries, including the US.
The flavor of Sprite is “lemon-lime,” and these candies are true to that classic Sprite taste. Checking the ingredient list, I do see lime juice powder, but I don’t see lemon. There are “natural flavors” listed in the ingredients, so I assume one of those flavors is lemon. The taste is quite astringent, not exactly what I would call “sour,” but it’s definitely sharp. The candies are colored a rather bright yellow, and I like that they’re not using artificial colors. Instead, they’re using turmeric and beta-carotene, and maybe that lime juice powder offers some color as well.
The packaging mimics the more recently-updated Sprite bottles coloring and labeling, naturally. The package is clear, and the label is green, easily identifiable as Sprite (especially with the Sprite logo front-and-center on the label). These packs were made in Canada and found by Marc Andrew Hoffman in Greenville, NY, at a Tops Friendly Market. Thank you so much, Marc, for thinking of me when you found these and for sending me a few packs!
Overall, these are tasty. I need to find some of my Coca-Cola Tic Tacs and pair them with the Sprite ones. I really like lime with Coke, and they would probably be a good combo in Tic Tac form.
