Heyhey, it’s #TicTacTuesday!! The 123rd variety added to the Tic Tac collection: FRESH+ Strong Mint. This pack comes to us from Italy and it is our third & final entry in the new European “FRESH+” line of Tic Tacs. I guess I should have started this little mini-series with Strong Mint, since basic mint is really the foundation of Tic Tacs. Eh, live and learn.
Just like the other two varieties of FRESH+, the package is a lightly-frosted plastic that really does convey the frosty feel of these mints. No extracts or oils or banned coloring agents in this variety. There is just the trio of sweeteners (xylitol, sorbitol, and steviol glycosides/Stevia) and “aromas.” Yeah, your guess is as good as mine as to what aromas really means here. It just sounds very “euro” to me.
The flavor crystals inside are colored with spirulina concentrate to give them a nice blue/green tint. Of course, you’d only be seeing these crystals when you bite the candy in half…after killing a guy with a hammer (see previous post).
These mints are FROSTY. I love them. They’re the FRESH+ version of Powermint/Mint Evolution/Mint Rush/TORMENTA/etc but even stronger because of the cooling effect you get from the xylitol. The others don’t have that, so while they are really minty, they’re not truly frosty.
I would buy these every week as my go-to breath mint, if I could.
