Heyhey, it’s #TicTacTuesday! The 111th variety added to the Tic Tac collection at VOCOMOTION Studios: Cerise Acerola. This pack was sent to me by my Tic Tac buddy Ike Estacion in California. They originate from France and hence have a French variety name. It turns out Cerise Acerola is a “Barbados Cherry” which is apparently not the same as just “cherry” we have here in the US. Cerise Acerola isn’t actually native to Europe, so I’m not sure why they went with this moniker/flavor instead of just “Cherry.”
They do indeed taste like…cherry. It’s a slightly different taste than the usual candy cherry I’m used to though. It’s pleasant, not overpowering, not that IN YOUR FACE CHERRY. I’m not a huge fan of cherry-flavored candy actually, so I’m not so hot on these.
I noticed the texture of the candy was a little soft. As I’m chewing a few of them and reading the back label of the pack, I noticed the expiration date was from 2009! OOPSIE! I’m still here to tell the tale a couple days later. No ill effects from eating Tic Tacs almost ten years after they’ve expired, apparently (ugh but now I don’t know math j/k). My guess is that this is a “Best By” date, which would explain the soft texture, iewwww. I think I won’t be eating any more from this pack.
