#147 – TIC TAC TWO: Raspberry & Lemon

Heyhey, it’s #TicTacTuesday! The 147th variety added to the Tic Tac collection, TIC TAC TWO: Raspberry & Lemon. This pack comes to us from Ireland and is the third offering in the newer “TIC TAC TWO” line.

The candies themselves are not the normal Tic Tac shape or size. As you can see, they are dual colored, with each flat face of the candy representing a different flavor and color (white and pink). They are not coated, so they have a matte finish, which is pretty unusual, and the texture is different. It has that same chalky texture that you find in mints like Altoids.

They are “sugar free” which is a big no-no from me, using both sorbitol and Sucralose. I don’t mind natural sugar alcohols like sorbitol or xylitol, but I really cannot stand artificial sweeteners like Sucralose. I can always spot the taste of them and really hate it. Since these are from outside the US, they used natural colorings & flavorings like radish, spirulina, apple, and blackcurrant concentrates. These candies are larger than normal, so there is a warning on the back of the pack about a choking hazard for babies.

I actually like the lemon & raspberry combination here. The lemon is bright and dominates and the raspberry does add a nice counter to the citrus. BUT, once again, due to the Sucralose aftertaste, I couldn’t eat more than one of these and won’t be having any more.
